The Detroit Metro Airport is one of the busiest transit airports in the United States and handles millions of passengers every year. A new terminal has been added to the airport to handle increased traffic and ease pressure on the existing facilities. The Detroit Metro Airport wanted the new terminal to leverage technology to interact, communicate and inform the passengers through interactive touch screens. IdeazLab worked with our partners DMS to develop the design and technolgy framework for the digital signages and touchscreen kiosks in the airport.
The touchscreen kiosks are designed to be a one-point information platform for passengers in the terminal and provide local news and weather conditions, connect passengers with hotels and car rental companies in real time through VOIP connections and also have advertising space for the Airport Authority to monetise.
We are excited by the possibilities of this project and its applications in various public spaces as a tool to interact and communicate.
